Hi! So I recently started learning how to alternate and I didn't really find many "tutorials" on how to do it or learn it so I wanted to share my learning experience so far and some tips that I picked up.

What is alternating?
- It's alternating between the two fingers that you play with

Why alternate?
- well its simple really. It is recommended to learn alternating in some way to get better.. be it full-alternating or semi-alternating. The sooner you start the better!

How do I learn?
- so I have picked up that if you are already a player for some time and you only single tapped then you will have a bad time.. Its really hard to make your hand STOP pressing the key in the way you used to.. but there are a few things to make it easier!

- the first - is to FORCE it.. even if you fail.. even if your accuracy is 50%.. you are learning to alternate now so just turn on NO FAIL and try to force your fingers to alternate. I know not really a tip but you kinda have to do this..

- the second - is to download osu!lazer. You see lazer has this mod called "alternate".. yeah I wonder what that does right? Anyway if you have lazer then just turn on NO FAIL and ALTERNATE and the game forces you to alternate otherwise it doesnt let you press the circle and this has been SOO HELPFUL I really love lazer for this quality of life (and dont worry you can import everything from normal osu!)

- the third - is to play low star maps.. even if you play 4-5 stars hell even if you play 7 stars maps.. go back to 1-3 stars preferably with lower BPM. These maps will give you time to decide which finger is supposed to press the button next and thats very important

- the forth - is to download finger control maps. and yes there are low 1-3 star finger control maps and they will be HARD if you are learning to alternate.. hell I cant do a 2 star map with alternating.. not yet at least.. if you dont know where to find finger control maps then try visiting osu!Collector and just look up "finger control" or "finger" and from there you can find a fair share of maps

What do I get from this?
- So at the "end" of your alternating journey you should be able to do doubles and tripples and even streams (maybe?) much easier, also some odd patterns that you probably werent able to do before.. anyway it will 100% make you a better player or thats what I tell myself at least

- Anyway this is it for my "guide" I hope it will be helpful to someone and thank you for reading my post!

This seems helpful!
I am currently a hybrid player leaning towards single-tapping most of the jumps. While it works for most of the maps I've played, harder maps with higher bpm would kill my stamina. (I also suck at streams ;w;)
