I take your rank from the moment you sign up to place you initially, then again once the lock-in phase begins to check if anyone needs to be moved up.bomite_LXIX wrote:

The new thing starting in 2025 is letting people choose either their "normal" bracket (based on their current rank) or moving up one bracket--in your case, from 499-300K to 299-200K.
I actually didn't think about what to do about single-brackets, though. I might drop people back down to their normal bracket if it means that a bracket will be viable otherwise, as I don't intend on letting people go up two without earning it through ranking up beforehand. That being said, this would be a last-resort thing at the very end of sign-ups.
Also, everyone's added. Don't forget to specify if you want to challenge one bracket above you if you want to.

Btw void if I move up and there’s no one in my bracket but there’s someone in my original bracket I drop down right? bc i just wanna participate lol

Like to specify,if no one s gonna be at 300-499k,drop me to lower rank range,cuz i play like 500-600k player now lol (new setup,new place,feeling very rusty) but really, above rank range will work too (EDIT: Nvm,i see at least 2 ppl,that will probably move on to 300-499k range)

There will be no rank-downs, only rank-ups--in other words, you'd only have 499-300K or 299-200K. Although, with you, tvorok and Madara 499-300K will be viable so it's kinda moot for that one.NotAccolada800K wrote:

EDIT: Today's the last day before the lock-in phase begins! If you want to go up to a harder bracket, say so before midnight!
Essentially, yes, but since it will autoconvert that utc to my local time (US Central) it's a little bit easier to say it just works off my timezone. I think I just tried to elaborate in the rules so people know the why of it.greyy_ninja wrote:

The lock-in phase has begun. All players that joined prior to this are now locked into their bracket choices, with the only possible exceptions being those who are leaving a one-person bracket.
I don't think I mentioned it in the rules simply because it didn't occur to me, but any players that join from now until the end of sign-ups MUST decide if they want to move up when they join. Otherwise they will be put in their normal bracket and MAY NOT CHANGE IT short of the aforementioned advancement from a single-person bracket.
Checks for single-bracket advancements have been sent out as well.

this doesnt mean you should kick them but maybe try to avoid talking to them if this behavior happens during the tournament. ig he needs to learn someway or another how to play the game and tournaments are a way

wow wtf???? ,ik some osu players do/say crazy stuff (including me lol),but we mostly joke,and not go THAT far,and he did it not 1-2-3,but more than 4 times,does he have self awareness/shame? Edit: also i see he got tournmant ban for 11 months yesterday,that means he can t play/staff them,but can play regular osu?Kqma wrote:

Everyone's added. This is the last day of sign-ups!
That being said, this challenge isn't something officially sanctioned by Peppy nor one that has a badge so there's no particular issue of him joining (especially since he's not going to be a staff member). That being said, I do expect some level of civility if you intend to chat with other participants or myself. If nothing else, take this as a chance to be part of a tourney-like experience and use it as a way to better yourself so you can actually help be a staff member like you seem to really want to be. Getting angry at other people for bringing this to my attention (especially since you're implicitly agreeing that this happened) or at me for using it as a baseline for how to interact with you won't help you.

Sign-ups are officially over. Round 1 has begun and will end at 23:59 on January 2nd.
All players in single-player brackets that did not take their advancement have been moved to their normal bracket.

Thank you to everyone who's participating. Thank you as well for making almost every bracket viable alongside most of them being more than just 2 or 3 players.
If it is accurate to what happened there is no reason for them to not bring it to my attention. If you don't want what happened in this document to define you as a user here, take the proper corrective actions so that it doesn't happen again and this will be but a footnote in your history here instead of what everyone thinks of you.4osu wrote:
