hello! i recently bought a mechanical keyboard but i am having a really hard time adjusting to it, as i have used the membrane keyboard from my laptop for a really long time and have grown very used to it.
ive tried changing keybinds, hand positioning, even offset but nothing seems to work for some reason.

does anybody have some tips for me to adjust? thank you!

i play mania on school computers so i know that membrane and mechanical are pretty different. i know its extremely hackneyed but you gotta just play the game to adjust to mechanical

hi! thanks for the tip, but atp im starting to realize that the mechanical keyboard is just straight up holding me back. for a few days now, ive played a lot with the keyboard but my hands just end up hurting super badly after just a match or two. im probably gonna give up on mechanical, maybe this just wasn't the right time to try.

also i was just messing around and i got my pp record on membrane, i don't think im keeping mechanical.

what switches are you using? if they're something heavy like cherry blues or blacks, they might actually be worse for mania than a good membrane keyboard

they are Redragon Mk2 DIY red switches. i researched before buying and everyone said linear is better, but for me the keycaps feel kinda "tall" and i feel like i need more strenght to click. i talked with a friend and he said i might like tactile better but idk.
im returning the keyboard btw

i wish i could give advice but my mechanical keyboard doesnt have customizable switches :(

anyways keyboard im using is a mafiti rk101. i know its hella cheap compared to other mechanical keyboard but it just works for me and i can play well on it. also, if you cant seem to find a keyboard you like just stick with membrane, its not like finding a good keyboard will increase your skill level by 1 star. for me, mechanical is just more comfortable to time and thats it honestly

edit: when i mention membrane keyboard i mean school keyboards, not proper good ones so take my words with a grain of salt
