Mania skins are always off-center and ColumnStart has no effect

basically what the title says, i've been trying various mania skins that have the playfield on the left side, something like this

however, the game seems to always try and make the playfield centered, which causes the rest of the skin to move alongside with it and makes it look awkward

i did some searching around and tried editing the skin.ini files but to no avail, the ColumnStart value has absolutely zero effect no matter what it's set to, the other stuff like colors etc work fine though. this happens regardless of key number as well

i also thought it might be an issue with lazer since it's in development but the same thing happens with regular osu. anyone have ideas?

Hi xMinecat!

Is there any .ini file other than skin.ini in the folder? Perhaps you can try deleting them.
What skin is this may I ask?

okay so i tested some more and suddenly it works fine for old osu, all the skins suddenly started working there properly. still no luck on lazer so i guess moving the lane is just not supported there?

for reference none of the skins had any other .ini files that i saw, but i'll post them anyways if you're still curious

the iidx skins do have a different ColumnStart value for 4k but as mentioned earlier it doesn't seem to work when i change them, i don't know if i'm misunderstanding how skins work but i am always making a new .osk file for the edits so they should be always fresh installs though

Nope, it doesn't work in osu!lazer unfortunate. Its default position is in the middle of the gameplay field. And osu!lazer skinning is still in WIP so we'll see how it goes in the next update.

Or if you want to edit the skins without opening osu!, you can change the file extension to .zip and then edit through the skin.ini before saving and rechange it back to .osk. Just a small tip next time.
