Always starting bursts/streams with index

So first of all I am quite new to the game which makes it possible that it is just a play more kind of problem. When I first launched the game I played just single tapping but after few minutes I went on and watched some tutorials and I've learned that fully alternating is better(?) so I started doing that successfully or so I thought. I've catched myself starting every burst with my index so it can go like: 1. zxxzx or 2. xzxzx depends on what button I clicked prior to the burst and my problem is the pattern 1 it makes some parts of maps really hard to control especially if it is the slider that's before the burst.

So my question is does anyone else do that or it's just me and is it really bad to do that or just playing more will help overcome the issue with controlling this kind of pattern.

The opposite finger here, I can’t start streams or triples with my index finger when I’m locked in, and it does kinda get annoying, but I can manage just fine without it. For you, I’d say to work on it rn, bc the longer you get used to it, the harder it will be to full alt (it is better btw). Try to play a little bit easier maps and force your middle finger to start the triple or stream.

Yeah that's probably the best way to go about it, ty!

Plenty of people do it, and it's not even necessarily bad. If it gets the job done it gets the job done. Don't worry about it unless you think it's holding you back (BTW, your playstyle is extremely common, even among top players, so I doubt that, and be hesitant to blame a lack of success on it in the future)
