Anyone know how many techniques are there for mapping a tech map?

Well, I just want to know if there are some mapping techniques that might help to tech mapping other than fast slider. I'm kinda new in mapping and I'd like to map to a kinda techy song (eg. J-EDM & rhytmn game music in general).
