I'm resistant to encouraging osu to loop itself in with other social media (probably similar to spaceman) but also don't see this feature in particular as making a big impact on that. streamlining the display of social media links away from userpages makes those feel much less like self-advertisements, which is why I've supported that before
within the scope of this feature, I actually have a bigger problem with the account settings page, that would end up listing a bunch of other websites as individual fields and encouraging your entry for each -- if more social media fields are added, might be better to consolidate that into a menu where you select a new account to list, and then fill out a new box for it
I do think just having Discord and Twitter is a strange place to stop. YouTube and Twitch as mentioned feel more notable to osu!'s footprint online than Twitter to me.
also I'm almost certain some extra resistance to this type of request comes from how they are currently implemented, it's all very hardcoded right alongside important user data. maybe that's worth changing too
