Any tips to get better at clicking?

I'm new to Osu! and just made my account this month, and I feel my progression has been good. I have however noticed a trend that while my aim is actually quite good and I can play jump maps up to 4.5 stars pretty decently, I really struggle with clicking. when its a simple pattern its fine, but when notes get stacked or there is bursts or really anything that requires precise finger control like the 4* difficulty of 'everything will freeze' I just really struggle with it. Even mid to low 3 star maps I can sometimes struggle to comprehend what I'm supposed to do with my fingers the second the pattern isn't dead straight forward, and quite often I find myself unable to even pay attention to the beat of the song and just rely on the visuals. I'm wondering if anybody has tips to help get better at this or if its just play time related, and its a normal thing. Thanks in advance.

Well first off, are you single-tapping or alternating, and where are you clicking?

This is why you don't play 4.5* when you're new. You're not supposed to rely solely on visuals to make your way through these songs, as this is a rhythm game.

Stop playing anything above 3* for now (honestly I'd say even 2.5*, too), and use your time on high 1* and low 2* to focus on playing to the rhythm as well as stuff like reading approach circles. Learning what to do at those higher SRs isn't going to come easily when you dive right in like that. Start easy (And I mean easy, hence high 1*/low 2*), and work your way up from there. Once you're used to slower/easier patterns, the harder stuff will come naturally.

That, and then there is clicking from a physical viewpoint

Wow, that's actually quite impressive, but yh as Voided said, you shouldn't play those highly-rated maps at your level, it's obvious why you're getting overwhelmed, so yh take it a bit easier, and the progression will come naturally.

I'm not about to tell you to stop alternating (there are merits to sticking to that no matter what), but I personally think it's even more imperative that you start slow and easy if you're doing alternating. You need to be able to control which finger clicks when (as well as learning to play bursts off of both fingers, not just your dominant one), and you can't do that when you're playing stuff that's just too far beyond your skill level.

You need to start with getting comfortable with the playstyle in the sense of not feeling too much miscommunication when switching fingers, then add in smaller/slower bursts as you hit 3*s, and work your way up while (relatively) slowly adding in other skillsets like jumps, streams, tech, and any combination of those. I just can't stress enough that sticking to low SR stuff for the time being will help you the most in the long run instead of trying to play 3*+ (especially 4*+).
