Dynamic AR - Better Expression of Music
I Believe implementing a feature that allows AR to change dynamically during gameplay would significantly enhance the player’s experience. It would provide a more accurate expression of the music’s tempo, especially during parts where the rhythm naturally slows down or speeds up.
When the music slows, the static AR doesn’t fully capture the shift in intensity or mood, making it feel disconnected. A dynamic AR would allow players to better engage with the flow of the song, matching the rhythm changes and giving them a more immersive experience.
This could also open up creative possibilities for mappers to design maps that reflect not just the timing of the notes but the feel of the music in a deeper, more meaningful way.
Such a feature would also add a new layer of challenge and depth to the game, as players would have to adjust not just to the notes but also to the changing AR, which could add excitement and variety to each map.
This Could be Implemented:
Add an option in the Osu! map editor for mappers to define multiple AR values at different points in the song.
This could be similar to how mappers currently adjust the BPM or timing points. Mappers could add "AR markers" that specify when the AR should change changing them by mappers.
