How to use feature artists beatmap template?

I tried to map directly on the beatmap template before, but then the game said I can't upload it because is not my original beatmap (aka I'm not the author). So what is the correct way to use the beatmap template? Or is it OK now to map directly on it?

from what i can tell, you didn't type your username (or didnt type it correctly) in song setup metadata where it says "beatmap author" or something like that (its where you put the song name, artist, difficulty name and all that)

once you do that, you should be able to upload your map :p

FA map template are always ownerless when you first download it, so to have it from happening there must mean there's something wrong going on.

recheck your creator field and your beatmap ID to ensure it does not conflict with any existing map, and probably recheck the template itself too.
