so iv been playing osu for like a year and something but i had a big stop for like a couple months i do feel like im geeting better but its just wierd that i only can fc some hd/DT 4.7stars max but i can pass immortal flame highest diff which is 6.65stars so i just want to know if its just a skill diff or if its just a matter of time until i start fcing some 5 stars or maybe its the fact that im too lazy to retry a map to many times to get that 5 fc medal

Firstly, that ceiling is theoretically infinite and just a matter of having just enough skill to pass a map. Any 6 or 7-digit could in theory pass the highest SR map there is, as infinitesimally likely as that is. Realistically it's probly about 6-7* at mid-high 6-digit (500K+). Factors such as the map type and individual proficiency can make that vary wildly anyways, too.
Secondly, unless you just want to try and pass whatever and don't care about improvement or acc, you really shouldn't be playing 4*+ maps at all at your rank. 3* maps are likely your best bet for improvement in skills and consistency, with maybe the occasional low 4* to test how far you've come. Also doing that without mods is a must because playing with dt all the time is going to screw with your rhythm sense.

Just experiment more with various beatmaps and you'll start to FC 5 stars and even more
