Problem details: Certain beatmaps cause my osu! to crash for some reason. I have every osu ranked map til 2023 if that has anything to do with it? When I try to open osu! again, sometimes the map will be deleted. It always gives me the "something has changed in your beatmap folder" warning. Anyone know how to fix this??

Sorry for the long awaited response.

You might have some broken beatmaps (some that come to mind are XNOR XNOR XNOR) that can have some serious ramifications on the system and the game.

Hmmm,

Do you have any pending OS updates? If it says you don't then please manually check to see as sometimes the automatic one doesn't catch all updates.

See if updating/repairing your .net framework fixes the issue?

I went through each process and checked after each one and the problem is still there. After I tried everything, I even tried deleting all my aspire maps, one of which being XNOR XNOR XNOR and the problem is still there... :(
edit: i just tried pressing f5 to do a beatmap rescan and it still didnt work

okay it seems when i tick the background video option OFF in settings, im able to play or edit maps. this means that for whatever reason, osu! doesn't render video on certain (not all) maps when it should, why would it do this?
chromb
this is an OLLLLLDDDDD issue with osu!'s handling of .mp4 files. It has been resolved in lazer.

As for why it happens, i have no idea, but playing with video off should solve it
