I just came up with a new gameplay element, called the slider kick, that can add a little variety to your beatmaps. It involves sliders and beats simultaneously. For the most part, it can already be programmed with the current osu! editor, although a few minor glitches (such as not being able to add the whistle and breaks not being inserted properly) can occur. Also, sometimes the beats don't make any sound, which can sort of throw you off... just keep reloading the level if that happens.
I've uploaded a demo. It's not a full beatmap, but it's long enough for you to be able to get the idea. Don't let its low star rank fool you, it'll be a little bit trickier than you think. See if you can get a full combo!
The idea isn't to design entire beatmaps around the concept, like in the demo. Slider kicks are something that you can throw in every now and then to spice things up.
