a couple days ago i was checking the ranked score leaderboard and found out that there are actual badges for completion in each of the modes. i checked out the wiki article on it and it said that there are no mania or ctb completionists, this made me wonder if there was anyone close so i started searching. after not to long i found out that in both modes there are completionists for example Edgar_Figaro in ctb and KcHecKa in mania. both of them became completionists in september 2023 but still havent gotten a badge yet. does anyone know why they havent gotten there badge and if they ever will.

The short answer is that staff just don't care, at least not for modes other than standard which don't cause much backlash from the community for not giving the badges out. It really sucks, even going for completion in osu!catch isn't a small feat. I think it will end up taking me well over 500 hours to complete ctb, but I am focusing on SSing all the maps which I can and not using DT. Badges are given out for far less challenging tasks, like participating in the latest beatmap spotlights.
I contacted staff about this a while back, here was their response.
The wiki article does state that badges are "handed out at the discretion of the osu! team", although I think that most people would assume that's only to make sure people aren't achieving completion by playing with nofail and going away from their computer after hitting one note on each map or anything like that (some re-wording of the post would be nice).
