Anytime I play a map, if I get an occasional miss, I can recover pretty quickly; however, as soon as I get multiple in a row, it's like my brain turns off and cannot recatch the rhythm. This happens on maps that I have good scores on. Any advice?
depending on how you miss (and if you're still on Stable), it could be note-lock. If you miss one note (in a stream, for instance), and try to hit the next note right after, it won't register since the previous note hasn't cleared the screen yet which will lead to you chain-missing until you either fail or manage to sync back up to the notes.FennyFen wrote:

Thanks for the words of advice I have been casual up until recently, the addiction always seems to pull me back. I have done nomod most of my time and I am curious how HD can help me. I do sightread quite a bit, I do not grind maps I usually play whatever shows up. I am also very prone to panic, even on maps I'm competent in. My eyes start to dart to the accuracy percentage or combo counter. There is no particular place to pattern that I lose the rhythm, it can happen on streams, jumps, complex patterns, finger control patterns, etc. Its more common on higher bpms._mp1506 wrote:
OK bruh void might be correct, but it depends on how high of a bpm do you play... I stalked you profile and found out few informations like:
1. 4 of your topmost plays are capped at 185 bpm
2. You don't do HD
3. You playing for fun? Some 4 years old records there
4. You have few meticulous play records against more subpar records
There are things that you must be aware of:
1. Beatmaps are mapped based on BPM and beat snappings
2. Whether or not you play the same with or without the music
3. At what BPM are you playing
4. The OD of the map
5. Whether or not you panic
Hypothesis being:
1. You are a sightread player
2. You don't do speedmaps yet
3. You are not a perfectionist and don't really care about pps? nor unstable rate
4. You panicked out
With the problem being you having trouble recovering after misses in a row (was it a stream?), firstly we look at the BPM and OD. The higher the BPM, then the OD should be higher so that notelocks can be better avoided. BUT, at your BPM it's not really an issue as far as I'm concerned. In exception you're a unluck lord.
I did say maps are based on BPM and snappings. To make it easier, I would take a long stream as an example. Mid-stream we miss from time to time, but we can recover by acknowledging the interval between beats. How do I do it? I simply tap faster for a few notes and neutralize it to the real BPM snap. Typically streams are snapped 1/4, so you know what to do.
With the same concept, it doesn't have to be a stream. It could be a combination of short bursts and sliders etc. BUT the BPM doesn't change. That's why I think you're either not playing it to the beat and or you panic. Thats all.
You need to build up your confidence around your own sense of rhythm and not to get fazed. Play it with your eyes like a dead fish (but don't forget to blink once in a time).
Wish you good luck.
