Hello, not sure about if i should ask here or in help so sorry if im mistaken.

The title says it, im playing osu with a tablet since pretty much my whole playtime, i have the xp pen g430s(link below) but as i keep playing and playing harder maps, im not sure if this tablet is going to be with me during my whole "career", because as im "getting better" i sometimes feel like this tablet is now not sufficient enough for me.

I also recently been platoing, struggling and being inconstant, my playcount also has diminished but this can be because of other reasons.. And so recently i can't find back any comfortable grip or position that i use to have, im not at ease like before, and i dont know if i should just play regardless of this (although this may be one of the reason causing me to play less) or take a brand new one like the Wacom that a lot of top player has or just a better one in general.

This bring the question of whether or not it'll make a difference and if i really need it. I dont know much about tablet, but will a bigger tablet with a better "LPI" (i honestly don't know what this term means or how it works) makes me more comfortable? (and better occasionally). And if i continue playing with it, how should i know when its time to keep it ?
This also could just be a bad phase but, im kinda impatient and dont like when things go wrong for a long time, which i maybe could say that im experiencing (ofc its subjective, some got it far worse)

Also my keyboard is a ducky one mini, i dont think it need to be changed but i'll still ask about it(im not waiting much replies since its not the main topic here)
I'm no FGsky so im not sure if i can go very high trough the ranking with this small g430s but idk, i need your opinion. And if you suggest me to buy a new one, some advice about which one to take would be appreciated ^^

Hey! Fellow G430s user here.

I think the main issue with the tablet is the abysmally bad hardware smoothing, which can be remedied with the Reconstructor plugin on OpenTabletDriver. Do try that (alongside one of the smoothing plugins) if you haven't already.

As for grip, maybe try tennis grip tape. I've found that it can get pretty slippery, and even if that's not an issue, it can make the pen a bit thicker and easier to hold.

I personally haven't experienced any issues with the small size, although I do use a very small area (57x32). If you are considering upgrading for the size, or any other reason, the CTL-472 does seem to be the best option at the moment.

I used my Wacom CTL4100 from 2018 until 2023 when I could no longer justify playing on it anymore due to the wear and damage the tablet had taken from around 5+ years of constant gameplay. I bought and still use my CTL472 with the same area I had on my CTL4100.

As the person above me said if you aren't already try using opentabletdriver, manufacturer drivers usually have a lot of smoothing (I use no smoothing at all now since it gives me full control). The grip thing seems to be a common problem for a lot of people, it'll probably come back in time.

The main thing here is that if you're already using full area on your current tablet and you still think it's too small, then I'd personally say consider buying a new tablet (ONLY IF YOU PLAN ON PLAYING A LONG TIME). Typically, hardware isn't an issue on osu, there are/were many players who play or played with what some players would call "bad" hardware such as membrane keyboards or the Huion 420 (but this was a LONG time ago, huion 420 really isn't even considered now).

If you do decide to get a new tablet I'd go with the Wacom CTL472, I currently use it and haven't had any issues, and you can always get the medium version if you want a pretty big tablet.

Thanks for your help and answers, im following what you guys said and im first switching to open tablet drvier and got the plugin since i used to play with the xppen driver but after research i found out it's better to use opentabletdriver.
Im looking forward to those tennis grip if i still sense weird when playing.
For now i think i can play quite more with this tablet without buying the CTL472 but i'll still see in the future if i'd buy it. After playing its true that those change made the sensation better when playing, this could be placebo but at least there's improvement. thanks!

edit: okay i love both you i just set my new top play i dont know if thanks to opentabletdriver or anything but ill be grateful my whole life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
