Problem details:
everytime when i play a map and i say in mind that im going to fc the map or that im fcing already like 1/3rd of the map i miss on paternts that ussually i would easily fc, even if i just started a map and get my mindset to fc the map the moment i say the word fc in my mind i just miss within next 5 seconds, and no its not a coinsidence because it happens all the time for 2 months now, and everytime i play on autopilot while thinking about something else not osu THEN IM STARTING TO FC THE MAP. Why is that and how to fix this!?!?!

osu! version: Stable 20240513.1 (latest)

You need to focus on hitting the separate elements of the map rather than focusing on an arbitrary outcome. Basically you're messing yourself up by making yourself nervous. The reason you start to FC when you are not focused on the map is because you are in a flowstate, your body is doing a motor task that it is capable of hitting with little to no conscious effort, but once you become conscious of how well you're doing, you have a higher chance of becoming nervous.

I recommend turning off all UI and shifting the focus of your practice. If your only goal is to FC and you let that desire go unchecked, you will continue to struggle as you have been. Turn off the UI and set a goal for Acc instead. you won't be able to see it until the end of the map. This might help you keep your nerves under control.

oh hey im having the same problem, but instead of organizing my mental, it keeps happening for 5 months until i get depressed whenever i open osu.

...

anyways, turn off UI. don't care about FCs. it's not like FCs will make you improve.

Confidence is hard.

There's fine balance between overthinking when you're playing that makes a voice 'You will FC this!' but also voices as 'You will FC this, right?'. The vice versa also applies for letting your mind wander off or worse, denying your capabilities that makes a voice 'No way I can FC'.

Feeling nervous is what makes us human. What you can do if you're having an intention to FC a map is as follows:

• Just casually play it couple of times. If there's gradual acc improvement (e.g 95, 96, 96.5) then good! You can't be expected to FC without knowing the map first
• Notice where your misses are. If it's on the easier section of the map, identify where it is and what causes it. Often you can misread and misaim something. If it's on the diff spike, you can always try again and perfecting your run.
• Notice also your patterns of getting a miss. If it's like 400x, miss but you can regain your combo, often that not, misreading. Constant 100-200x means that you can definitely improve your skillset first beforehand.

When you're ready, you can do the following:
• Shift+Tab to hide the UI, only focus at the moment
• Lower your expectations. There's always next time to FC
• Consiously aim slower on easy part. Relax your grip
• breathe, exhale.

Honestly I'd just chalk this up to an issue of inexperience. I was like this when I first started. As I played more and fced more maps I just stopped thinking about it as much.
