Do Osu! skills transfer over to Mania? BIG ARGUMENT BETWEEN FRIENDS!!

My 2 friends have been arguing whether or not osu skills transfer over to mania. One is a top 2000 mania player and the other is like a 5 digit standard player. The standard player is saying that Ivaxa is good at mania because he is just naturally gifted and that the only thing that would transfer over from ivaxas standard skill is speed. But the mania player says that other things would transfer over as well. Any help to prove which one is wrong? Debate is getting heated.

At least it don't really transfer the other way round because aim is pain

most std players only stream with left hand anyway, for mania both hands are for streaming and none are for aiming

I think there is some small reading ability that transfers over (maybe not directly but knowing how to play one rhythm game will kind of get you to understand the importance of not lazily reading in another) as well as a very significant transfer of speed/stamina.

I'm pretty bad at mania, though (200 pp flat top play), so I don't have a good grasp of how to actually play the game and how different skills interact.

A huge portion of streaming has to do with technique and not your raw muscles or whatever. I'm not saying that my right hand can stream as well as my left, but I can deathstream 220 bpm on my right hand without mashing/doubletapping (although my control is noticeably worse and I can stream higher on my left), presumably because I already have a grasp of a working technique.

Ive seen a mania player boot up std, put ap on and pass 8* maps with good acc lul

I think tapping carries over but no way anything else does (there is nothing else)

Your reading can be better and your rhythm sense is better than the average player starting out mania.
These twos things can be essential in the long run, and also make for quick improvement.

as a rank 2500 mania player and a 5 digit in standard i can proudly confirm that i have no fucking clue. tapping/stamina probably carries over though, reading honestly for me barely like at all carries over

oh yeah also wanted to say that mania to standard tapping skill transferring is far more effective ig? then standard to mania for alot of reasons, people already said this but the technique for tapping in std is really different in std then mania like you almost never double tap in std but double taps are like a key part of mania. and yeah the fact that you also use one wrist too which another guy also said.

mania to std tap transfer is different though like you only really need to single tap and alternate which mania players are experienced in

Perhaps when it comes to stream in std, mania players have an edge because of stamina. But idk the other way around

Basic principles of rhythm games are universal ofc such as rhythm sense and tapping so player who played a lot varied types of rhythm games are comfortable at least in fundamentals

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thanks for asking but the only skills it transfer are stamina and speed to the hand you use

osu -> mania: only if you value maps containing streams, rhythmic complexity, and maybe reading. (not stamina because mania stamina is a whole different beast than trilling with mere two fingers)

mania -> osu: only stream and stamina
