I want to be able to set this to any value, not just the common ones. And yes, there are songs that require uncommon snap - I need 1/5 beat snap for https://osu.ppy.sh/s/117126 . The song's swing is 3/5, so it's only possible to map higher difficulties with 1/5 beat snap. It's bad to make perfectly rhythmical songs unmappable because of a pointless restriction.

Well, if you need 1/5, do BPM times 5, and map at 1/1. At the end set it back

I tried. To keep the sliders, I'd need SV 0.26, and the lowest allowed SV is 0.40. Even if I change it in the .osu, the editor shows 0.40 instead.

Then change it in the .osu to 0.52 and use x0.5 in the whole song (Speed changer in timing panel)

It's a bit dumb, having to work around limitations this way

If somebody can show me a song where it's really needed I would support this but with the exmaple I didn't hear any 1/5 between the Beats.

The BPM is right, the Time signature is 4/4, the BSD is 1/6 (perfect fitting for the background), where is the 1/5? :(

Swing quantisation is something that I've asked mm about in the past, but he thought that it'd cause complications with sliderticks. However, we all know that tick rate 1 tends to work for swung music, so ticks wouldn't be a problem.

Really, simply allowing for more note values would help when things get particularly weird. Not everything consists of perfect eighths, sixteenths and triplets/sextuplets. Sometimes, we get instances of uneven swing (which is actually more natural and genuine than triplet swing) or strange note divisions for the hell of it.

The problem with uneven swing is that notationally it doesn't exist. You can't map to something that doesn't exist in notation without forgoing snap divisions entirely, and that's a no-no for reasons that should be obvious.
