How do I insert short breaks in my beatmap on osu!lazer? I'm quite new to mapping so I don't know some of the basics yet. Thanks!

Adding breaks has not yet been implemented to the lazer editor, it will be added in the future, when exactly I don't know.
If you really need to add them, you can only do that in the stable editor, for that you'll have to export your map from lazer (as .osz) and import it to the stable client.
