Problem details:
Basically, the sound is crunchy and crackling, and sometimes it just doesn't work. When I check the apps volume, Osu appears and dissapears of the list really quickly.
I'm using a distro based on Debian 10, playing the las version of OSU!Lazer.

try seeing if your audio drivers have any pending updates, if they dont you might want to rollback your audio drivers, or reinstall them.

edit: if this doesnt work you might want to post on https://github.com/ppy/osu/discussions explaining what the issue is, any necessary logs that are produces, and your current build (audio drivers, software, hardware specs, etc.)

This is most likely an issue with your system and/or audio config. Troubleshooting this needs more details on your specific setup:

  1. What sound server are you using? (PipeWire, PulseAudio, JACK, etc.)
  2. Have you done any configuration for the sound server or is it running on default settings?
  3. Hardware specs (especially Audio chipset, CPU)
  4. Does the same issue occur with any other applications or games?
The audio output of osu!lazer is already quite lenient with buffer size by default. Crackling and cutouts will either be caused by a bad config or your system being underpowered for the overall CPU load of the game.
