[Archived] Problem with the require_update file (Osu not updating)

I can't open osu, it says it needs updating. But when I try to update osu the require_update file disappears and then reappears after a bit. I tried reinstalling, and removing the .require_update file manually, but it didn't solve the issue.

Hello Luar0208, this problem is mainly due to 3 possible causes that I know of:

1) Files are missing in the osu folder: a solution would be to reinstall the game, back up the SONG folder, and try to reinstall the game.

2) Error with the video driver: this problem is unusual, and strange, but it could be a cause (it happened to a friend xD), you can try to update it or verify that it works correctly

3) A worm infected the osu and repair: it may be that the executables are infected, if solution 1 does not solve anything, try to create another user (but with a normal rank, not administrator) and run the osu there is, if any error appears ( pop-up window and not the osu one) your PC or X may have a worm
