UPDATE: This post p/2899703 then this post p/2900814

------------------------------------

My friend showed me this today.

As I play with dual monitors I would love to know how to move the video/image into the 2nd monitor. Any idea's on how it was done or how he did it? I have done a little googleing on the issue and can't seem to find out how it was done.

thanks ^^

I think you simply open osu! in the second monitor

what do you mean? I can't have more than one instance of osu running. At lest not as far as I can see?
Piotrekol
marcostudios probably haven't even touched video you provided.

As far as I'm aware this isn't possible within osu! itself- It has to be external program(and I have sent pm if he wants to share it )

I was thinking that myself ^_^

ty am looking forward to his response :3

If this gets shared my osu experience will be 10x better.

My best guess would be that he opened the video in a media player, and as the first object appeared he pressed a hotkey to play. I can't actually watch the video, but that's probably the only thing i can think of. As far as I know, there's nothing in the config files to move the video playback location.

If it won't I'll just have new coding project(+learning all video stuff from code side)

He plays the song on DT and the video is also on DT. It is likely he played the video at 150% of the original speed but I would doubt it.

I love you so much.

Open osu! on the second monitor (as in, open osu! when the icon is on the screen you want to play on), or go into the osu!.user.cfg and set Monitor = 2.

EDIT: Oh, I misunderstood. I think he's just playing the video in a media player in the second screen.
Lach
You could always like, ask the guy who uploaded the video.

Try to make that secondary screen as your primary screen

Its no problem but try and remember its not worth getting a high post count if you piss people off while doing it. A low number of high quality posts is much better for a forum rather than high number of low quality posts.

I am confused by what you mean
Piotrekol
This is what I got after fiddling with this and that for ~2h.(so... buggy)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/134 ... %20Vid.mp4 ( don't mind delay between starting @ map and vid- it's hardcoded to 2s for now & I'm using VLC for video playback c: )

I don't have second screen connected at the moment because I need new DVI cable with I'll get later today or tomorrow >.<
I'll stop until I'll get one.
//edit
WELP stuff happened...
ivan
Why would you want that anyways,, It gets really distracting dont you think?

you are my hero.

once you get it working on dual monitors will you post up how to do it?
daredakke
I think I'd like to know how it's done too.

If only to see what it's like.

<link deleted> - check posts below.
Note that it DOESN'T:
-detect DoubleTime/Halftime(I can make hotkey for that if someone will be really interested in using this)
-detect map pausing (as above- I can make hotkey on esc key- just that spamming esc will prob. break it :p )
-detect skipping(as above)
I haven't tested if it really works on other screens(as I still don't have my second one).
daredakke
I'll definitely play around with this tomorrow, I have a second monitor to try it out on too.

I tried your initial Download and could not get the media player to move from monitor 1 to monitor 2 no matter what option I picked. I could not get the video to play at all anyway :(. I also noticed that you had released an update witch I downloaded and then the watching of the video option was gone. At lest the one I knew to look for, was I missing something obvious?

would it be possible for you to add Storyboards into your player as well as background not just the background video?
laport
thank you Piotrekol, great stuff! I suppose the first page can be cleaned up a little bit

Bacground image- yes.
Storyboards- I would need to implement SB decoder... with I'm not instrested in + I would need to use another DX/OGL overlay for this.

--------------
seems like after uinstalling all VLC related stuff from my machine .. program is crashing... http://puu.sh/7b7Rl.png
I'll try to get requred dlls delivered with program-in the meanwhile if you can't wait install VLC- http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and it should fix it.

Done. Just download and use this:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/134 ... IDEOv3.rar (17mb of dlls ;_; )
also ignore update message for now- I don't have access to my panel to update newest version (friend of mine changed server and i still don't have access to it (hai Ezoda) )

Hai Piotrekol :3

Kinda works now, except it only goes on my main monitor no matter what option I select.

Here is how its working so far. As you can see there is a bit of a video delay but I'm not sure on how you can sort that myself.

For some reason my osu lagg's when in monitor two but it would sometimes lagg when Firefox is open in monitor 2 and osu is open in monitor 1 so it may be an issue with my own personal setup.

I have the same issue. ^_^

As I told you yesterday on PM- it's delay added by me( 1.5s to be specific) and I did that to compensate for map loading time- I'll just add config variable for it later so everyone can adjust it themselves .

If someone(who has access to dual-screen environment) is willing to spend some time with me in-game then I can try and fix monitor choosing issues.

+I've added showing static background images when there's no video present. (Stretched for now - I might also add config for this)

I will be very busy till about 10pm GMT. If you can wait till then, I'll be more than happy to go through it with you and you can even TV onto my PC if necessary (provided my isp is not being a dick again lol)

EDIT: and I meant accurately fix it. Some video's start as soon as the song starts and some wait a small bit before starting. Some songs have a long loading if they are a big beat-map with a lot of notes. So getting that timing just right for every map is near impossible unless its running from osu directly.

fixed changing screens(1 fking "else" that I forgot and it screwed it all)- thanks Dozy Van for help with testing.
added background images
added manual DoubleTime - Press Ctrl+D anywhere to speedup/normalize video.
//editerino
muted videos played(fixed in next release) (why the hell video in this map has sound https://osu.ppy.sh/b/24695 )

I can open osu on my non-primary monitor by just putting the Osu icon on my second monitor like so, http://prntscr.com/2xd5da (Screen on the left is primary, screen on right is secondary)
