Has anyone uses a Game Boosting Program when playing videogames on PC?

I am using Razer Game Booster for a while now and I see some improvements quite a little bit when playing osu (fps increases by 20%).
If there's some game boosting program that you wish to recommend, feel free to reply to this topic :D

I am using an HP mini 210-1100 with an Intel Atom CPU N455 Processor with 1.67GHz

PS: Does using these program actually helps in playing Video Games?
Am I posting on the correct subforum? :?

All it really does (if I remember correctly) is turns off processes that you probably don't need, as well as de-fragmenting your games folder. It can help quite a ways if your computer is sub-par.

there's also OS designed for gaming interactivity, which seems to be a shortened and functional version of the OS you may know(ex: there could be an OS called windows xp gaming edition or something like that)

I use the Razer one, and IObit Smart Defrag. I'm not one to believe in this company(seems quite shady) but it did make my computer a bit faster.

Also, change your power options. Normally the minimum CPU usage is low, which yeah, can help a bit with the battery, but windows doesn't know how to control it well.
My sister has a atom netbook, put it on minimum 90% usage, it got way faster(still slow(it's still an atom), but enough for common usage).

Personally I feel like game boosting programs doesn't really help me at all.
But I've heard good things about the Razer one.
