Frustration due to skill issue

I've been getting frustrated lately because my improvements are slow or nothing at all. The maps that I'm comfortable playing only give me 1 or 2 pp per play. And when I try to use mods on top of it I can't play it. I'm too slow for dt and I can't read past ar9 for hr so I'm forced to just use hd and that barely gives any pp. Am I playing wrong maps or what? How do I even change my mindset and approach towards the game. I consider myself to be a just for fun player but shit missing half the time and not being able to play the songs that I want because too high for my skill level isn't fun either.

IMO, because of the lower AR, HD on the maps you are playing is harder than HD on the maps you will play in the future, I would say try nomod to push your skill for a bit. All your plays are pretty high accuracy too, maybe try getting some 100pp scores on harder maps by just trying to fc them with low acc, and eventually you will get comfortable with the new patterns

Maps that you're comfortable playing generally won't give you progress because they don't have patterns that you struggle with (hence the comfort, duh). You can't learn new stuff without trying it.

I recognize that my problem is I don't like having low acc on my plays, I barely have any A ranks because if I miss or even sb I would just abandon the play. I know hit accuracy stat is useless but I can't seem to stop myself from caring

Don't abandon play, play it all the way and then put in collection to work on. Some scores you'll fix the same day, some in weeks, and some you will feel like you'll never improve it, and that's all normal. If you just power through the initial sadness of getting the bad score and let yourself be uncomfortable, you will start to love improving scores to high acc just as much as or more than getting the high acc score the first try. Don't rob yourself of that nice improvement experience and of being able to see your progress. To get even better scores, you've got to get some bad scores too. Getting a bad score doesn't mean you're bad at the game or mean anything about you, it's just like going to the gym.

actually, your problem is your perfectionism. if you allow yourself to have a low acc in order to improve, you will rank much faster than right now

Find a song a little bit above your comfort zone that you enjoy and try to get better at it. You'll improve this way.

I strongly agree with this person. Sometimes, you have to sacrifice your accuracy to achieve on something, but you can just improve it on the other day. If you feel down about yourself not being able to set a cool score, it's time to take a break. Try finding maps of your favorite songs? I usually play the game with my favorite songs and it really helps me improve my skills while having fun. Or maybe playing on multiplayer, you'll get to play a lot of different maps. One thing I wanna add is push your limits by playing maps above your comfort zone, you can go back to your comfort zone in some time. Once you get the hang of it, try going a bit harder, and most importantly, enjoy game. ^^

(im bad at giving advices)
