I wasn't aware of this when it first happened.
Also, as a kid I once thought parasols opened up can really act like a parachute. D: I literally tried that, then fell on my ass and was out injured for about a week.
I think the physics guys all over the world would be going crazy about this IF the family had never been proven to be a bunch of hoaxes. Too bad the kid spoiled the fun for his family without knowing he did =p
