So previously I had this issue where my index finger would just feel super heavy and lock up even playing the easiest low bpm maps (like 2 or 3 stars). That was after I came off a short break from only farming dt, which was all I played at the time. So thinking I had injured myself I quit the game for 3 years (extreme ik but I wasn't going to risk my hands for this game lol). So I've been playing again for 3 weeks now without any improvement until the last week, and I've seen this issue come up before and I think I know what happened. My best guess is that my tapping just physically could not keep up with my reading which caused me to fingerlock, playing sm dt I was used to looking ahead to see what notes or patterns were next but I literally didn't have the stamina to keep up so my hand just kind of froze and locked up. I have now started using this program I found from a flyingtuna video that literally just measures how fast you tap, I do 500 presses everyday w/ both fingers and have been for the last week and I've seen massive improvement! Just thought I'd share since I've heard this happen to other ppl as well, ofc everyone is different so their circumstances are prob different than mine but I figured if this might help someone it's worth sharing!
