[Archived] about osu supporter hearts

i know that less than 1 year - 1 heart, 1 year - 2 hearts, 5 years - 3 hearts, but do i need to have a supporter without a break or can i not have a supporter for some time and it adds up all the time?

It does say "in total", so I'm pretty sure it's not contineous but indeed the total amount.
I also didn't have supporter for a full 5 years in a row (yet).

It doesn't need to be continuous, it just adds up your total support length.
