This is the sequel of Ale's Epic Low-SR Tournament.

Welcome to Ale's Low-sr Encounters, a 1v1 open rank standard tournament featuring very low SR maps only. Additional to standard mods, there will be EZ, HT, FL and WildCards to make things more interesting.

General information:
  1. This is an osu!std 1v1 double-elimination tournament. Score v2 and NF will be applied on every match.
  2. This tournament is international and open rank, which means players from anywhere in the globe from any rank can participate.
  3. Tournament will only consist of very low star rating maps, most maps will range from 3* to 4.3*. Target star ratings for every stage can be found on the Mappool Structure section.
  4. Staff can play in the tournament except for playtesters.
  5. All schedules will be in UTC, if you don't know how to schedule around that, check this or directly ask a staff member.
  6. There will be no screening.
  7. On both qualifiers and bracket stage, all modpools are played with the respective mod forced. Some additional mods that can be used are the following:
    1. HD will be allowed as an optional mod on HR, DT, EZ, HT and FL (and sometimes WC). However, the 1.06x multiplier is removed.
    2. HR will be allowed as an optional mod on HT and FL (and sometimes WC). Similar to HD, the 1.1x multiplier is removed.
    3. If both HD and HR are used on HT or FL maps, the multipliers of both are removed, meaning there's a x1.166 score reduction.
Qualifiers:
  1. There is a Qualifier Stage starting at the moment this forum post has been released until january 7th (time TBD). It'll define the qualifying players and their seedings for the bracket stage. The top 128 players will advance, starting with a Round of 128. Seeding method for qualifiers will be average sum of placements.
  2. During qualifiers, players will play through the qualifiers pool in a scheduled lobby. Lobbies are scheduled through the #scheduling Discord channel and there will be only one try per player.
Bracket stage:
  1. After qualifiers, matchups are made through traditional seeding (#1 vs #128, #2 vs #127, etc), following a double-elimination bracket afterwards.
  2. From Round of 32 onwards, players in loser's bracket will potentially have two matches per week/stage.
  3. There will be 1 ban from Round of 128 to Quarterfinals, then 2 bans from Semifinals to Grand Finals. On stages with 2 bans, the ban order will be ABBA.
  4. On stages with 2 bans, a single player can't ban both FL maps. Besides that, there are no restrictions on picking and banning, meaning double-picking and double-banning is allowed.
  5. There will be no specific tiebreaker maps. Instead, a striking system is done to decide the last map to be played out of the remaining ones.
    1. From Round of 128 to Quarterfinals, there will be 3 maps left on a tiebreaker scenario. Both players roll, and the winner decides who strikes first. Strikes are done like bans on the match chat and the remaining map is played to decide the winner of the match.
    2. From Semifinals to Grand Finals, there will be 5 maps left on a tiebreaker scenario instead of 3. In this case, strike order is ABBA and both players will strike 2 maps, roll winner chooses who strikes first and remaining map is played as the TB.
  6. WC maps will be extra maps that might have different combination of mods or win conditions in order to add fillers on the pools. This modpool will be considered different from all the other modpools, meaning that in case FL is forced on one of these maps, the FL double-ban rule is ignored for this map.
Mappool Structure:
Star ratings are equivalent to the most standard maps of the pool.

General Rules:
  1. Players are required to join the Discord server and change their nickname to their osu! username. If a player changes their osu! username they must notify us about it.
  2. During qualifiers, there will be a list on the main sheet of different times to play, players can freely choose from them through the #scheduling channel on Discord. If they prefer a time not listed there, they are allowed to request a custom lobby.
  3. During bracket stage, there will be a public list of default schedules on the main sheet for all the matchups. Players are responsible of checking them on time and to reschedule appropiately with their opponents when needed.
  4. A referee will create the lobby and ping the players 15-10 minutes prior to the match time. If a player doesn't show up to the lobby within 10 minutes after the scheduled time it will be taken as a forfeit and a win by default for the other player. If this happens in qualifiers the missing player/s can play in another lobby with no punishment.
  5. During bracket stage, in a double no-show scenario, the player with the higher seed will take the win. The only exception to this rule is if there were unfair scheduling constraints for the affected player when asking for a reschedule, like ignoring the requests or an attempt of forcing unfair times from the higher seeded player. Forgetting about the match and being the first one to get online on Discord is not a reason to claim the win. A reschedule is also allowed if both players choose to.
  6. If a player gets restricted mid-tournament, they will be effectively removed from the tournament (unless they get unrestricted withing 24 hours of the restriction or at least 48 hours before the scheduled match time). However, bracket will not be modified. Last affected match might have a changed outcome up to the host's discretion.
  7. Late reschedules are allowed but not encouraged, it is preferable for players to avoid this unless absolutely necessary.
  8. Sportmanship is expected everywhere, in case of unsportmanship, according punishments will be given if staff sees it necessary. They'll be reviewed in a case by case basis.
  9. For any situation not covered by this information, common sense will be applied at the discrection of the referees and/or the host.
Qualifier procedure:
  1. During qualifiers, the whole qualifiers mappool will be played in order. If a player joins late, they are allowed to play the missing maps at the end of the lobby.
  2. Players are expected to respect the timers given by the ref, those might be around 60 or 90 seconds and any procedure regarding it is completely up to the referee's discretion.
  3. In case of a disconnect, the map will NOT be aborted, but the disconnected player can play it again at the end of the lobby. If the issue happens more than once, it's up to referee to decide whether to allow a replay or no.
  4. If a player wants to use HD or HR on another modpool that allows these as optional mods, they'll have to ask the referee to enable freemod. Remember that the additional multipliers of these mods are removed and they are only for comfortability purposes.

    Bracket Stage procedure:
  5. Warmups are optional before starting the match, players are free to play one or skip them. In case they choose to play one, the map must not exceed 4:00 and must be ToS friendly.
  6. After warmups, players must roll. Roll winner chooses either pick or ban order, roll loser chooses the remaining option.
  7. There will be 120 seconds to pick and/or ban a map and 90 seconds to get ready. It's up to referee's discretion to give punishments for not meeting the timer length, these can be but are not limited to: Give the pick/ban to the other player, roll the pick/ban, give a point to the other player, etc. Referees are allowed to slightly increase those timers.
  8. If a player disconnects during the first 30 seconds of a map, it will be aborted and replayed. This can happen 2 times at most per player per match. It's up to referee's discretion whether to allow a replay or not if the disconnect happens after 30 seconds of the map.
  9. In case of a map draw, the map will be replayed as many times as needed.
