PREFACE
Also apparently the theme is that one band get to play their entire album instead of your usual random setlist from pretty much any other concert.
Well too bad!
Listening to 59 different albums will be way too fucking draining. Also whilst the album choices are ok imo, I don't think it's a great representation said band entire discography. So this tier list will just be an overall ranking of all the bands.
Feel free to disagree to any placement you see don't fit. Remember that this is only a subjective list and i'm only doing this for fun + I'm not being paid.
TIER LIST
EXPLANATION
Only doing some of Ear Rape, Mid, Solid, Bangers and doing every band for THE GOAT(S) because it'll take way too long to do every band.
Ear Rape
- Neck Deep - Overrated. they have done everything what every other band has already done.
- Fall Out Boy - Incredible first album and have been dogshit after that. style change in the 2010's does not help
- Hey Monday - Pop Rock but like... really bad Pop Rock
- We The Kings - Really bad one hit wonder. try mentioning 2 more of their songs without googling.
- Pierce The Veil - Sleeping with Sirens wannabees. also why does the vocalist sound like that?
Mid
- The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - One hit wonder but atleast it's fucking good.
- Simple Plan - Radio friendly, copy+paste, canadian. Nickelback is that you?
- Hawthorne Heights - Big shoutout for making Ohio's national anthem. that's all they've done tho.
- A Day To Remember - People seems to like them but just doesn't hit for me.
Solid
- Senses Fail - Can't Be Save music video is the most energetic shit i've ever seen. jokes aside very good band.
- Mayday Parade - A Lesson in Romantics is such a bop. haven't listened to much after that but that album is some legendary shit.
- Jimmy Eat World - Emo + indie = incredible shit. also shoutout my boy Jimmy wonder if he ends up getting that girl.
- Four Years Strong - Great beards. It must really suck to not listen to FYS right now.
- New Found Glory - Sticks and Stones may break my bones but easycore will always be underapreciated.
- Sleeping with Sirens - This is a mistake tbh they should not be this high. well atleast they can hang this high.
- Escape The Fate - Only really listen to stuff they made with Ronnie Radke (which is like one album lol). Pretty good album tho.
Bangers
- The Used - The living proof of "that band". you either like them or hate them. still one of the best of the early-mid 00's imo.
- State Champs - Only really listened to Around the World and Back. Insanely catchy.
- My Chemical Romance - Needs no intro. unfortunately there are better bands above. (also hot take: their first album is their best and have progressively gotten worse after that).
- Coheed and Cambria - Fun fact: On top of making great music, did you know that CAC entire discography is a "musical" of the vocalist comic? It's called "The Amory Wars" though i can't say for certain if it's good or not.
- Dance Gavin Dance - I like twinkle daddy. i like hardcore. i like screamo. and then theres DGD.
THE GOAT(S)
- Motion City Soundtrack - First three albums (I Am The Movie, Commit This To Memory, Even If It Kills Me) are some of the best of the genre. incredible how these guys makes me sad for no reason.
- Saosin - Haven't listened pass their beetle album but holy shit. literally perfect 10/10 for all songs in their debut ep and beetle album. their debut ep literally changed post hardcore forever.
- Underoath - Christian band my ass. Listened to their entire discography long ago and it still sticks in my head. They're Only Chasing Saftety and Define the Great Line probably one of my favorite metalcore albums.
- Thursday - The last big emo band that's actually good lol. in addition to making great music, their vocalist is also a great guy. after lastprophets literally imploded, he gathered the remaining members and created a new band called No Devotion.
- The Wonder Years - The literal peak of Pop Punk. their first 3 album (Get Stoked On It, The Upsides, Suburbia) are still one of my favorite record as a whole and yes i do also think it's one of the best ever.
