[Starting discussion by request]
( I was hoping that someone else could provide an idea to branch around )

There are still prejudice people around and some people who aren't. I personally think that some gay guys I know are perverted. I think most of the lesbian girls I know are pretty fun to talk to. I say these because of personal experiences. I wonder why people are too shy about these kinds of things and why its uncomfortable to talk about it. I used to feel uncomfortable talking about these kinds of things too. I think people have the right to have an opinion on these types of people. I'm prejudice when it comes to almost everyone I meet. It gives me an idea of what I could expect. I can judge them as a mean person but I won't know until I actually meet them. I see a tough mean looking guy...I could assume hes a thug or something but he could just be a nice businessman or something. He could even be a hairdresser or something. You can't definitely assume how people are like that.

I think you need to look up what prejudice means and its part of speech, animask.

I don't care if someone's homosexual or heterosexual, or nonsexual (which I'm leaning toward myself). Just don't rub it in my face (both/all three issues).

I don't like pride when it comes to debated issues. It makes you look like an idiot.

What's to discuss?

What does it matter to anybody else what somebody does under the covers? Have our lives become so boring and utterly meaningless that we have to find solace in ridiculing people for aspects of themselves that they cannot fully control?

The concept has seemed utterly folly to me since I first heard of it. Quoth Richard Feynman - "What do you care what other people think?"

I think this is relevant.

However, the question here isn't really a question at all. It seems animask just wants opinions. If we were to discuss a law or something (something tangible to argue about) this'd go much better (assuming people are intelligent).

Nothing.

I'm not so upstart and egocentric to suggest that my views have 'moral prevalence' over anybody else. People can decide it for themselves - it's not as if my opinion will change anything about their own if they hold their values strongly enough.

So ultimately, discussions like these end up with a few people walking away offended. Someone is going to walk in here adamant that gays are parallel to the devil and all hell will break loose, pardon the horrible pun.

My example wasn't (only) about shifting opinions. It was about actions.

If there's some murderer out there after people with your views, "What do you care what other people think?" Well, I'm sure you would care, as you're being targeted.

I wouldn't so much care about what he thinks as opposed to caring about the consequences his actions might entail for those within my sphere of consciousness.

I care about what affects me and the people I care about, and effectively everything else is superfluous and arbitrary. Gay marriage, the holocaust? None of my business. Issues for people who are actually affected by them to sort out.

It's not my business to make things my business, if you know what I mean. The notion in today's society that you have to do that in order to be some semblance of normal is baffling at any extreme - at least to me.

Was my paragraph really that boring to even read/discuss? (besides Tode...she read it~)

Anyways I say most of the gay guys I know are really perverted.
I met about 3 of them that were.
It gives me an opinion/judgement that I should expect some gay guys to be perverted.

I don't really care too much anymore.

There's no point in telling them, say, "according to the bible, being gay is a sin. Also, the reason you're gay according to the bible is because of sin," because A. That would confuse them, and B. They probably already heard that a gazillion times. So, I just don't bother.

Them: I'm Gay!
Me: Okay! *walks away/turns his head the other way*

So yeah, I'm apathetic towards this issue.

I believe it is the choice of a person to decide if his actions are right or wrong by his own standards.

Whether or not others will react to his actions based on their (the others') definitions of right and wrong is the problem and will never be solved (because conflict builds society no?).

Can't change how they are, and I don't find anything wrong with them myself. Seriously, some gays are nice, and I find nothing wrong with them. <3

I was just pointing out that some people think that because a 3000 year-old book says to kill gays who act on it, which also says to kill men who sleep with another woman and non-virgin women who marry a man and the man finds out, means that being gay is obviously wrong and should be nagged, annoyed, and flamed to death.

Since I don't really care either way, I don't think about it at all. That's what I meant, I wasn't really clear there, sorry.

Personally why I don't like gay pride parades and shit. I'm personally proud of the fact that I'm gay, sure, but I don't try to force everyone to know. :/ It's a preference, not an entire lifestyle.

I think that my point has been made. If you take one passage and try to use it for your own purposes, then you should also go by all the passages in that same book, which most of these people clearly do not do.

Must agree with this. Some homos are just going overboard, making me sick of them. I understand a lot about homosexuality due to exposure and curiosity so you can somehow say that it's all within respect on both ends.

As far as the over-the-top, flaming homosexuals go, I personally have a huge problem with them. It's not something you flaunt as if it's your absolute defining factor. It's still okay for gay couples to show PDA, but not be as if they're flaunting their relationship or going too far, just like any straight couple.

The thing you need to take into account is that homosexuals make up a very small portion of the human population, so that instance you brought up will most likely never happen.
one homosexual or a nation of homosexuals, i still think it is wrong.

There is more to life than reproducing.
yes ofcourse. i don't base it all on the "reproducing" thing. im not going discuss this any deeper as it would be quite difficult for me to type it out in good understanding sentences. so go ahead and think of me as an ignorant douche, however just to make it clear i don't hate gays. but i don't agree with their lifestyle.

english isn't my main language which you can see. i speak 3 other languages besides english, so unfortunately i haven't had time to study as much english as you have. but mmm thanks i'll keep the word opinion in mind since i seem to be using that word a lot. hopefully this was clear enough for you to understand. (also i don't do my best to check my spelling or grammar when i type on the internet)

Yeah I usually avoid nitpicking the grammar of ESOL people but it's just that you always spell opinion wrong and once I noticed that it haunts your every post

other than that your grammar is usually fine not trying to be a dick
