Welcome to osu!voice: the most critically acclaimed singing competition for osu! (not really, but we can dream). Here you can show off your singing abilities while competing for a spot on the podium, and hopefully have a lot of fun in the process!
The contest will be held in rounds, each one consisting of a submission period, during which you can upload your entries for that round and a judging period to decide which entrants will make it to the next stage. - To be allowed to join the event you need to be active in osu! in some way, shape or form. This doesn't necessarily mean playing the game, but accounts created just to enter the contest, or old inactive accounts coming back just to enter etc. will not be accepted.
- Please follow the below instructions for recording and submitting closely or your entry might be disqualified.
- Songs with excessively obscene lyrics will not be allowed. For example, it's ok if your song contains swear words, but songs with lyrics built around highly graphic themes won't be accepted.
- Duets will not be accepted.
Stages
- Auditions: During the auditions you are free to sing any song of your choice, for a chance to compete in the elimination stages!
- Elimination stages: At the beginning of any given elimination stage, a stage theme will be announced. All entries for that stage must follow the theme. Every time judging concludes for a stage, a certain number of contestants will be knocked out and the rest will advance to the next stage.
- Finals: The top 3 contestants of the last elimination stage will become finalists *woohoo* and get to face off by singing any song they choose in full, including effects and mixing. The final results will then be decided by a community vote.
Recording🎤
- You will be submitting a recording of your voice layered over an instrumental for the song of your choice.
- Please make sure your voice is clearly audible and not drowned out by the music. If unsure of how loud to mix the instrumental, we'd prefer it's too quiet than too loud. The contest is about judging your singing after all.
- It is NOT permitted to cut, splice, edit, or modify your recording in any way or add any effects (reverb, autotune, etc.). This includes noise reduction/cancellation. Not abiding by this rule will result in disqualification. The finals are the only exception to this.
- Entries for auditions should be between 0:30~1:30 minutes in length, and for elimination stages between 2:00~3:00 minutes. You won't be disqualified for your entry being a few seconds shorter or longer, but please keep it reasonable.
- We highly advise to keep the raw recording of your voice without any music saved in a separate file, as you might be asked to provide it.
- We recommend uploading your entry to SoundCloud or simply providing your original files to preserve the best possible quality. (If you do use SoundCloud, please do not change your username after submitting, as that will make your link invalid)
- Do not submit your entry multiple times. If you do, only the first one will count.
- Auditions: September 17th - October 15th
- Elimination stages: October 21th - November 28th (for 2 Stages)
- Finals: December 19th - January 31st (roughly)
