introduction
Hey, it took me some time to finally make my introduction after all these years (Nearly 8 years). My name is Sipsu from Finland, and I play with the mouse and keyboard. I mostly play with EZ mod. My hobbies would be drawing from time to time.
How I found out about this game
Before osu, I mostly played other games such as TF2, CS:GO, and Minecraft. I found out about this game when my classmates were playing it in class back in late 2015, and I wanted to give it a try and see how well I could play it. I played casually for 9 months, and I really started playing more in mid-2017 because so many amazing things happened during that year for osu!
The osu journey
At first, I wanted to improve my overall skills to be able to play much harder stuff and get a higher rank (farming in 2017). I did that for a year before changing my focus to mania and 3/4 modding low-star maps (Leaderboard farming in 2018). It was fun for a year to learn to play flashlight better, but it got really competitive and intense. It didn't feel as fun as it used to, and I lost interest. I started learning EZ mod in 2019, and I played it non-stop. It took me six months to be okay at reading and another six months to be better at sight reading. I also started to get back on FL, but with EZFL on harder and longer maps. I have managed to set many different scores over the years, and I spend many hours learning and memorizing the maps. In late 2019, I started SS farming with EZ, and the milestone was to achieve 10k SS ranks, which I got it in late 2022. I also did a little bit of medal farming during that time.
What next
I have set different types of goals over these years, and currently those are FC, or passing every ranked and loved Touhou map and getting level 102. I will always do medals when they announce new ones or grind the old hard medals. I have been mapping a little bit, and it would be nice to try finishing more maps. Skinning is another thing that I would like to try, but I have never managed to finish anything from scratch.
osu has been a real mental game for me. to my motivation, grinding, and dedication. Without my different goals, I wouldn't be playing this game so actively. Over these years, the interest has decreased, like that of many other players.
Final stretch
I would say that osu has been the first game that has made me many different friends, and I played those other games much longer than osu. I'm really introverted, and osu has helped me be more open in-game or in discord.
Thanks for your time
