Any half-decent player at this game is missing mostly due to aim. If a map is a bit complicated, at most he'll lose some accuracy, not his combo, unless weird sliders are involved. This is not considering speed above the player's limit though.

The angle you are approaching this from is from other rhythm games. It's not the same. I did mention pattern complexity and the response required in those threads I linked. Accuracy is only as hard as it is, in osu!, due to overlapping patterns and aiming for jump patterns, split processing, otherwise it's on the retarded level compared to other rhythm games.

Hi, I justed wanted to ask how osu! works? If I lose my 10000 combo I get lower points? That makes no sense!

The combos are how the game is played. You are rewarded for being accurate overall. The combos are your reward for being accurate. The game won't change from this.

I think this thread is completely stupid now lol ~ the way the game is now is fine, and is basically just people repeating that.

yeah we need to talk more about how combos are not related to aim whatsoever, that's a pretty big revelation

It looks like I am thinking so differently that I'm not even speaking the same language with most people who have replied to this post, so I won't be reading this anymore. I already understood what's the overall opinion about this topic.

First, 10 000 combos are relatively rare.

Second, yes, you do. You'll get significantly less points.

Third, you are right. That doesn't make sense.

Fourth, that's how the formula is however, and it won't be changed.

as you get better at this game you'll learn how to hold your combos. You're still really new to this game so it's no surprise you break non-stop. You'll notice though that the better you are the easier it is for you to hold combos on harder and harder maps. It's a matter of perspective, really.

so enough complaining and get playing.

honestly though, that post made me think a bit about the next generation of osu
the next generation thinks that speed is the absolute only thing that matters.

thats why people refuse to play songs under 200bpm and AR10 when they have nothing but C's and B's and will call people shitty for playing slower songs but S'ing them with mods because the songs aren't fast enough.

Are there really other people running around calling people noobs? I thought this community was better than that :P really though, why would you call someone a noob when there is very little competitive versus play involved in this game.

Why would anyone bother calling someone a noob anyways? They're just better at chasing dots which, frankly, isn't all that impressive outside the osu! world.
