#OIC 2014 channel

Credits to C00lZ for the idea. Basically setting up individual tournaments is pretty chaotic with the one thread. Adding this channel would do a couple of things: 1. Allow players to easily communicate about setting up individual tournaments. and 2. lessen the clusterfuck/ un-organized mess that is t/173275

I'm always in favor of individual members taking charge and making their own tournaments. I think said tournaments can be very fun, and a good way to promote multiplayer.

You can already create channels, its an irc after all

its not an official tournament, what makes it special in comparison to others?

There was a channel for the NAT last year, don't see why this tourny can't have one.

That was more or less run by the official tournament staff that ran the OWC, minus a few members

I can seriously just ask for a public channel that can be seen by everyone in game?

Pretty sure you'd need a legitimate reason to have your own channel.

I feel like one of the refs should really be making the call on getting the channel. Should inform There that he should contact that email.

And a small notice - since peppy is sponsoring this tournament it is pretty much official. There aren't all top players in it, but I think if it'll succeed then next year we'll have both team and individual world championships.

What tournament? I wasn't talking about they individual tournament - people just ask in that thread "anyone want to do some 1v1s?" and "anyone wanna throw together a tournament?" something along those lines. Thought it would be helpful if there was a channel people could do it in, with live players.
