For those who don't know, XNOR XNOR XNOR is a standard beatmapset mapped by fanzhen0019. It got loved in 2020 because of the outstanding support of the community who found it very unique. I personally think that it's one of the best mapset ever created on osu! in terms of authenticity. You only have to look at each difficulty of the mapset to understand my point.
------------
Moon is the first part and it already shows what kind of beatmap it's going to be, a slider beatmap... Even though, this one is more like a puzzle slider map because you'd rather spend your time trying to find a way to combo than just hit the sliders perfectly because this difficulty is impossible to SS. I'd also like to talk about invisible circles because they really surprised me the first time I saw them. What a sliderend hell difficulty.
------------
Fire is obviously the second part and we can see that it's already more doable to acc than the first one. Here, it's the circles placed at the same time that make the difficulty of the map accompanied by sliders to make things more difficult. I've never seen something like this before and I think that it's funny.
There's also an intense part with a lot of sliders and circles to test your skills. The speed at which it goes makes things more complicated, even if it only lasts 20 seconds, and I'm not even going to talk about the pyramid at the end... Beautiful.
------------
Water is the most peaceful part, but it's not easy at all. Invisible circles are everywhere which makes it very hard to acc, but it's actually possible to SS it with a little bit of tryhard.
------------
Wood is for me the most exciting part by far. Finger control and reading ability represent the whole section without forgetting the sliders that are very dynamic here. In brief, it's kind of a mix between Fire with circles/sliders on the same tick and Moon with a lot of sliderend impossible to hit perfectly.
------------
Metal is also a mix of the other parts. It doesn't introduce any new mechanics but the song is very relaxing to hear, if you remove the madness of the mapping lol
------------
Earth (atm) is... the most insane part. If you've never played this before, you've no idea how horrible it is to play. The map begins with a slider in the shape of a giant circle with an indescribable audio, then continues with another one that goes off in almost every direction. The worst part is the spinners that appear exponentially on the screen which slows down the game if you have a bad PC. I'm not even going to talk about Earth that makes your game crash if you play on a toaster.
However, it gets better after those spinners because it's the same mechanic as Moon with the sliders that you have to hit without following them in order to FC the map. I really suggest you to play this difficulty instead of Earth because it's way more playable.
------------
Sun is the last part of the mapset and it's a mix of all important mechanics together such as unique sliders, circles/sliders placed at the same time, sliders that go off-screen and intense part with high BPM. The audio here is probably my favorite because it really reminds me of a show that's coming to an end, mostly due the applause at the end.
