Title, I'm burning through pen nibs and my capital can't keep up. My tablet area is shaved off and I've already gone through 12 pen nibs in 2 months of play. Help me.

Try hover I guess? It'll probably be easier to switch completely to hover than to actively try and drag with less pressure. You could maybe also try using felt pen nibs. Maybe they wear out slower or maybe not, idk I've never used them before, but it looks like they're a lot more expensive.

Also how tf do you go through 12 pen nibs in 2 months? 1 pen nib lasts me several months.

You should try hover because drag doesn't help you having a correct pen nib. 12 of those in 2 months of play is huge you have no idea.

Try playing easier maps if you do want to play hover. Since it's a different playstyle, you're gonna have difficulties playing normally at first so it's best to play easier stuff and once you get the hang of it you can start tackling harder difficulties. It's like de-rusting if I should point out.

Thanks for the advice, I'll play some easier maps and learn to hover. Also I guess I just put a lot of pressure on my pen? I get nervous easily so maybe that's why.

I also put a lot of pressure on my pen when i'm fcing a map so you're not the only one! I bought my first osu! tablet this month and I try not to push too hard to avoid damaging my tablet. When I play jump maps, I drag because it's easier to hit circles but when I play stream maps, I mostly hover so I can have a better flow aim. Do it the way you like it!

The reason you drag hard is because you don't have enough aim control.

You need to either increase your area or use more of your hand muscles to stabilize your aim.

You could also get a surface protector.
