Does anyone know how to get rid of audio delay in Realtex(R) sound drivers? I tried following the solutions in this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/osugame/comments/4eagd4/psa_figured_out_how_to_completely_eliminate_sound/ but switching to the generic driver muted my sound. Is there a way to change my audio driver? Would I have to get a different sound card? I currently have at least 50 ms of audio delay and it makes the game unplayable with hitsounds. It also increases my reaction time to sounds in other games.
Also, does anyone know a reliable way to measure sound delay? I've been using the calibration tool in dance of ice and fire and calculating the average and standard deviation over 10 runs using excel but I was hoping there'd be a better way. I also tried using this tool: https://nullvoxpopuli.github.io/latency-tester/ but I couldn't get consistent results. Are there any ways to do that in osu? I haven't been able to use the the calibration wizard because it relies on hitsounds - which are also delayed - and relies on human judgement as to whether the video/audio is in sync - when I want to test it against my input. Ideally there'd be a map where I could just play 20 or so quarter notes in a row and it would tell me my average offset at the end, but I haven't been able to find any maps like that besides the tutorial. Ideally I'd like a map that's faster and shorter.
Thanks in advance for all the help, I was working on fixing sound delay for several hours the other day and couldn't make any progress.
