Adding a "is playing..." in our profile

Wouldn't it be better to add the map we are playing on our profile so that people can go to the map in question? Something like this might be a good idea.

- There would be an option in the settings to disable or enable this function.
- Maps that have not been published will not display a bold text. This means that it will not take the person to the map because it doesn't exist.
- A function like this has already been implemented on Discord where people can see what map is currently being played.
- It could also be good for mappers/modders who are currently doing stuffs in a specific map.

I don't know if an idea like this has been proposed in the past. If it has, I would like to remind that it can be good.

I understand that this is for the web portion of osu! instead of the client, however, this is already a thing inside the client and I don't necessarily know how prominent or universally wanted this is? Considering if they are mapping a map it may already be in their profile if you scroll down to their beatmaps and pending maps/ranked maps.

Somewhat similar to the above portion the "is playing..." portion is also shown in the client (stable) and allows you to spectate and download from there.

Though I could see this being more useful in the osu!lazer web browser portion than the actual osu.ppy.sh web portion.

See if there is a discussion on it already on the github discussions, and if there isnt then maybe try proposing it as it can be useful there!

I was going to do it but first I have to create an account. I'm afraid I won't have an answer but I think that it's better to go there to propose this idea because peppy is the maintainer of these discussions.

I wonder if he'll still see this post without me going on GitHub...? I have no idea.

Completely agree with you. I confirm that it's empty in this area and that something like a "is playing..." could possibly go there, although I don't think it would look good if the text was that big lol

Btw the majority of the texts present in the osu website uses the Inter font. In some cases it uses the Torus font like for the beatmaps titles.

Personally, I feel that this doesn't look right; the original concept seems better, despite being a little cluttered.

That's a nice feature. But yeah I think the original concept is better too. Looks nicer that way.

After some thinking, the feature would look better in it's original location. But I still think something should be added in the area next to your name.
