the lazer editor is still a work in progress so I'd recommend stable right now
fwiw any difference in learning curves is hard to evaluate for anyone that's already really comfortable with one of the options, so it might be hard to find any actual information about that. intuitively, though, I doubt there's too much of a difference; the actual challenge is in figuring out how to make something decent regardless of the tools you use
