What/how should I play maps to improve?

Ok so I’m new in osu and I was looking at other posts to figure this out but what should I be playing to get better. Like rn I have fun playing 3.5-3.7 maps but it’s not like im FCing those maps. I just play a bunch of them 1-2 times. I get ussualy around 90% acc and a bit of misses(depends on map but maybe around 5 if there’s hard parts?) and I don’t get alot of pp for it. A lot of times I will get 0pp or just a couple(I think this is because of some farm maps in my top plays but idk). Should I be playing like I am with playing a bunch of challenging maps, should I play the same challenging maps but play them a lot so I get FCs on them(I know I can get FCs on these maps if I play them more it’s not like they are impossible), or should I decrease my stars to something where I can consistently get FCs when only doing 1-2 tries on the map. I’m thinking by playing maps like I’m playing now but playing individual maps more it will give me more pp and I’ll get better but also by playing a bunch of challenging maps I learn a lot of patterns and different things(my fav maps are maps with a lot of quick jumps)Thank you :)

3* maps are a very long period of time you have to spend the game on. It builds all the fundamentals of your game, muscle memory, etc.
You don't need to decrease the star level, you should be aiming to do the maps you can do and more importantly the maps that challenge you, e.g, you can do a 3.5* map, but you should be aiming to do a map thats around 0.2* above what you can do, thats a way you can improve.
Another important thing is to practice bursts and small streams with the correct timing, this is crucial to your development as if you just spam out all the bursts you will make loads of bad habits and I sometimes still spam through streams/bursts while playing standard due to this.
90% acc is actually quite good, and it sounds weird but as you keep playing through maps and progress through * levels the notes will actually start to seem like they become slower. This is because your note reading improves, and you can see the notes as they come. 99% of aim is reading, and about 1% is actually raw aim. Your reading will improve as you play the game (as people say "just play") Just playing actually helps, if you dont know which songs to play just go into beatmap selection and download ranked maps that are your skill level, it will not only help later on as these maps have multiple difficulties but its also just good to have a plethora of maps.
Just keep doing what you're doing, stay healthy, download more maps, and focus on the rhythm of the music, this will help a lot and if you keep playing even just for a few weeks you improve exponentially. At your level of the game, its where the rapid growth starts, you will be doing 6 star in no time trust

go outside your comfort zone . in my opinion the best way to realise if you are in comfort zone or not is misscount so try to care more about improving misscount (so decreasing misscounts)

Misscounts and numerical scores and such are good ways to see your comfort zone. But I'd like to add that your comfort WHILE playing the game should also be prioritized. Try your best to play and practice maps in a way such that in each play you lose less and less stamina while still maintaining around the same scores, this helps develop a good technique such that you wont be hindered by bad technique while trying to improve. I've experienced such personally, where my aim hand would easily get tired out playing only a couple aim maps.

Thank you! One question about streams I have is how do I know what speed to tap? I have done a few but only succeed at the small ones that exactly match the song beat so I know how many taps I need. Is it just getting to know streams and I’ll get that sense? With the slowing down ik what u mean lol. I can already see how much I’ve improved in the week(I think?) since I got the game from how much slower my old plays feel. I’ve been using a mass beat map downloader to get good maps and it works well. I got a tablet kinda early just cuz I wanted to learn on tablet from the start but also because my mouse cursor started jumping like an inch in a direction when playing hard parts and my mouse drift was pretty bad and it would make me hit my mouse into my keyboard or off my desk(very small desk).

I don’t really get tired by playing but something weird that started happening was my hand position on the pen kinda changes while I play till I notice the weird position and I have to change it in the middle. Also it feels like my hand slides up the pen as I play till the nib is slightly touching the pad so I have to adjust it in the middle.

Hmmm this is going to get a little into music theory stuff that i dunno how to explain either
Well, just remember those sorta bursts are usually just exactly twice the speed of what you tap with jumps
Other rhythms do show up but its best to start mastering those first, They're called 1/4 streams and you'll find them easy once you get familiar with their rhythm and nail down your muscle memory

In my experience before going out of my comfort zone my hand was getting tired so easily even at 5* maps. I went outside of my comfort zone and after a few weeks my hand does get tired on like in mid 6* instead of high 5*. Its great to take breaks when you are aim hand is tired. I would say its like training muscles at first you get tired from training your muscles for example 10 kg because its out of your comfort zone but by time you stop getting tired of it. Anyways as i just said never ever forget to take break when your aim hand is tired
