My keybind setting is V for left, N for right and spacebar for dash.

However, I put my left middle finger on V and right middle finger on N. While both of my left and right index finger rests on spacebar.

The reason for this is that I was playing with tapX style in std, and when I first playing ctb. I can't even move left or right correctly.

So I decided to copy my std play style. And at first I has two dash keys, which is mapped to the same key. But after I realize maybe it's bannable, so I make a change. Since the spacebar is only key you share both hands with, I finally make spacebar my dash key.

It works like charm for me except for bad acc (Though I'm still a newbie). And everytime I attempted to switch back to normal play style, I failed miserably.

That's it. What are you guys' setup?

I think this play style could work, and maybe be better than the current meta, which is "using one hand for movement and the other for dashing", but I think that you will need to put more effort into learning the play style before you can start getting better.

I say this because I think you will need to do a lot more micromanaging with your hands and fingers, picking and choosing on when to prioritise a hand over the other, rather than leaving each hand for a dedicated function (which I think is sub-optimal).

After theory crafting for quite a few years(? xd, it was always a proof of concept for me + don't want to relearn a lot of muscle memory again :c), and gaining some inspiration in games like ADOFAI, the most efficient with the current key choices would have to be (on a QWERTY layout) either D-G for left, either H-K for right (index finger would probably be preferable for control), and space-bar for dash (choose either hands for thumb, or (preferably) use both and switch between them periodically).

It's possible that using two fingers for movement independent of the hand may allow for better stability, and further endurance for switching between each thumb, since you're now offsetting your energy to two different hands rather than the one.

I do, but not exactly like you my right mid finger on N and on V is my left index instead of left mid finger, while i only use my right index for space/dash not 2 fingers we are very close even with same keys, its very rare to find this playstyle xd

near Fuji's type of gameplay movement, but not quite the same

Well, I used to use index finger for direction control(And index finger is actually on F, J as well), but my thumb is not so flexible so I changed a little bit. And since the distance between index and middle finger is closer, so I have to use V, N to play comfortably.

And I think efficiency of playstyles is not the same with different people, but I actually feel the control for pattern mixed with dash and stream is sacrificed but It definitely feel more stable.

Also, I guess mania main maybe would adopt this playstyle more well physically? (If not to separate dash and movement into two individual functions).

It's still conceptually different, but I totally feel the same way as alternating between finger for movement is not intuitive for me and unbalanced.

b-a-d-s123 has a bit similar playstyle: he uses left and right arrow for movement and upper arrow for dash
