Problem details:Which version of Osu! should I download, the stable or the laser?
and what is the difference between these two versions?

If you just want to start playing and get ranks, scores, and such, you should download stable. Lazer isn't officially released since it's still being worked on, hence why the leaderboards there reset.

Osu!Lazer will replace stable once its finished. Lazer does have rankings but they arent permanent and reset iirc once a month.
