How do you personally decide on a base slider velocity? (That is, the slider velocity in the black timing panel -- not the F6 one).

anything works tbh, but personally I'd go for 1.0x for Normal and below, default 1.4x for Hard, and at least 1.6x for Insane and above.

I just pick a number that makes the sliders feel right in the section I happen to map first
you don't need to think about it too much the number is irrelevant as long as you can get every actual sv you need with green lines

i usually go with 1x for easy/normal and 2x for hard+, and never anything in between
