[Archived] beatmap song preview not working

Problem details:
I've just uploaded a beatmap to my profile and whenever I play the song preview on the website the same sped up sound plays as the video below. I looked on an old Github post and saw that I needed to add a preview point in the map as well as change a few notes, then wait ~24 hours for the website to update but its still doing the same thing.

The audio file in your beatmap is an AAC file with a .mp3 extension. That's why the preview is not working. You need to reencode the audio to mp3

The file i used still shows as a .mp3 file. does the AAC with mp3 extension mean that it will show as an mp3 and still needs to be converted?

You will still need to fix the file. Extensions are meaningless, the actual audio format is AAC, someone just renamed the file to have the wrong extension.

I just threw the old file into the spek program and yes it was AAC, used audacity to convert it to a genuine mp3 and checked again using spek. Replaced the audio file in the song folder and updated the beatmap via BSS. Should just be a matter of time.


update: after abt 30 hours it works but only when i visit the website from my phone for some reason

another update: cleared chrome browser cache now it works.
