I would like to see an option to remove the kiai glowing in taiko completely or dim it so that it is less pervasive to make it look just as notes look during NON-kiaitime. I have issue with epilepsy and there are cases where it prevents me from playing my favorite game. My skin is very subdued but it's not enough to avoid afterimages and flashing overlaps on my screen during gameplay. This might benefit other people who are struggling with similar issues.

you can edit out in skin

I believe it's the taiko-bar-right-glow you have to edit

The issue is not the playfield bar that glows, it's the notes flashing during kiai which is the issue.

But yeah, I seconded this. It hurts my eyes and most of my fails always happen during the kiai time because of this.

Kiai time in standard ruins the game for me. Some maps I cannot play DT at all because of kiai, and I will often avoid fixing scores on high BPM maps. At the very best, it is an unwelcome distraction. It does not feel fair to me that people sensitive to these flashes are at a severe disadvantage when it is purely aesthetic and could be removed or customized -- just as every other aesthetic element of the game can be. I've thought about quitting the game over it, it bothers me that much.

Stop forcing features on players, especially features that can be visually distracting for neurodivergent people. Make it optional.
