Heads up, my explanation might not be the best as I'm in no way an expert when it comes to storyboarding, but I hope it helps nonetheless.

Once you got yourself an image you just drop it into the maps folder (or create an sb folder within the maps folder, if you got
more than a few images) and enter the editor.
Next, you simply choose the
"Sprite Library" and choose the image you want to use.
It will then appear in the middle of the screen, which you can Move, Scale, Fade, Rotate, or change the Color by selecting one of
these options and then clicking the image and moving the mouse to change the currently selected option of the image.
To have it appear more than just that one frame, scroll further in the map and
add another controll point.
Any changes done to the second point will be executed from the first to the second control point, for example if you change the position of the image it will move toward the end position.
