for osu mainia you should be able to hook up a guitar hero or rock band guitar to play and you should also be able to hook up a x-box 360 or ps3 controller to play with. this way you could make it feel more realistic.

i think this is a great idea because in osu mania it is so much like guitar hero or rock band and i think that if that mode was added in i would use it
I believe you can already use a control for osu! by using some controller supports such as xpadder or joy2key. I'd think if you could do this with a controller, you could do it with a Guitar Hero guitar. (at least for the 5 buttons)
Yeah probably. Question is if you play 5k how will you do LN walls with guitar controller? :^p

From my knowledge of devs, I believe this is not "denied" but "extremely low priority".
Something like joy2key which can easily accomplish this without any effort on osu! coding side and extremely hard and buggy native support prevent this from proceeding.

I guess the main thing that can be a struggle is that it'd only really work for up to 5key. (Unless it's a rock band controller, but then it's just awkward to hold). This is cool and all, but like, a lot of maps that aren't beginner maps tend to be built towards 7k (or I guess 8k, idunno).
I guess you can use the argument "You can still use it though", but for something that is only half-capable of accomplishing everything that the game intends, it'd still be pretty low priority on the list (and judging by how big that list is, it'd probably just be there forever

)The other thing about guitar hero/rock band, is that it requires you to strum the guitar to actually hit the note. In mania, you would tap it and ignore strumming altogether. So it would really just be awkward in the end for those that are used to playing GH/RB and you wouldn't get the experience you were expecting.

Probably this. I would not understand it why it wouldn't be added since Taiko supports the Drum Kit of the TnT Game from the Nintendo Wii.xxbidiao wrote:

I use JoyToKey for my PSP to play taiko, 4k mania or just ctb. Though i'm not using it anymore. xD
