[Archived] Osu collections randomly disappeared after a computer crash

Problem details: My computer crashed this morning and it booted back up. After a few hours of doing other things I launched osu and all of my collections are gone. This happened once a few months back.

There may or may not be a backup of the collection.db file named collection.db.somemoreorelessrandomcharacters inside your osu! installation folder (usually created when the client itself crashes).

Once I've found my backup folder how do I access it in game?

for public information:
We've been able to figure out (in game chat) that only a backup of the score.db was present so the topic starter is out of luck.
That said they have been able to recreate most of the entries by looking through the recently played maps.
An idea to prevent this issue is to create a backup of the .db files at launch of the game by using a batch file.
