Since it's there might as well use it, although it is generally useless with the shear amount of thread posts it's always in a constant lit state...

So what about changing its mechanics such as

- Only react to bookmarked & subscribed threads
- Only react to new threads not posts

I mark all threads as read every once in awhile which mostly solves the problem for me. But I ageee as it stands right now it is pretty useless unless you constantly look at a thread and read each page.

This can be refined further but I think you have it pretty spot on, support from me.
